About Me

Biography
Kerryn Madsen-Pietsch, born 1956 Ararat, Victoria, has lived in Innisfail, Far North Queensland since 1985. Brought up in Grampians country Western Victoria Madsen-Pietsch completed a TOP (Tertiary Orientated Program) year in Art (Stawell Technical School 1974), gained a Diploma in Art & Design (Deakin University Geelong 1975-77), a Graduate Diploma in (Secondary) Education (Bendigo CAE 1982, Majors Art/Craft (D)); in FNQ a Certificate 4 in Public Art (Cairns TAFE, 2003).

Alongside a long teaching career and founder co-owner and operator of a fine art materials, custom framing, studio & art gallery retail business, Madsen-Pietsch has continued professional art development and management practice, organized and taught regular ongoing life-drawing classes, attended numerous professional art seminars and participated in and often organizing, coordinating regional art workshops and exhibitions.

Madsen-Pietsch's achievements, while working in both 2D/3D multiple/mixed mediums, include: numerous drawing, painting, printmaking, fibre and sculpture awards; work in public and worldwide private collections; instigating/exhibiting in regional curated group exhibitions, with the most recent being 'Tablelands, Perimeters and Paramters' March 2010; selected works for touring; Elevating the Spirit, solo exhibition, Cairns Regional Gallery 2007, its selected touring, Main Space, Umbrella Studio, Townsville 2009; conducting workshops; having a worldwide internet presence.
